A passion sewing, quilting and crafting in Northampton

Sew Something opened in February 2015. After a rather bumpy 2014 for founder Cathie, the decision to open a sewing shop happened over the Atlantic Ocean, on a flight from New York back home to the UK. She came to the conclusion it was time to do something that would bring more joy and passion into her life, and realised that anything to do with sewing was the way to go.

Sew Something prides itself in providing customers with a personal and friendly service. Staff love the fact that many of their regulars proudly bring back their finished projects, sharing what they've sewn!

An extensive stock of quality sewing products

The store sells quality fabrics and accessories including zips, threads, Simplicity sewing patterns and ribbons. Beginning with fabrics and haberdashery, the shop later expanded into sewing machines, the only brand coming into question being Brother - they were the only machines the owners had or ever wanted to sew with!

Sew Something stocks Brother sewing, embroidery, overlocker and coverstitch machines, as well as embroidery software and a range of accessories - available in-store with any missing items easily ordered. What's more, the centre takes sewing machines in for service and repair, making it a one-stop shop for Brother owners.

Classes and workshops for every sewer

If you're looking to improve your sewing skills, Sew Something run a selection of lessons and workshops for everyone, from beginners to more experienced sewers. These range from fun kids classes and quilting sessions, to craft projects including bags, cushions and much more. Staff are also able to tailor lessons to suit skills customers wish to focus on.

A small yet perfectly formed sewing shop, Sew Something pride themselves on providing a personal and welcoming service, bringing together sewers from around the area to create a community. Staff love knowing their regulars by name, and relish understanding exactly what they need, helping them fulfil all their sewing needs.

Owner Cathie has also taken on a variety of commission projects over the years, but is most proud of her memory bears, memory quilts and memory cushions, which have given great joy and comfort to many customers.

Located on the Wellingborough Road in Northampton, Sew Something is surrounded by a number of small independent business, giving the shop and its area a lovely, personal feel. It's really accessible too - parking is available on the main road or one of the numerous side streets surrounding the Wellingborough Road. Come and say hello!
